Three Skincare Steps You Should Never Skip!

Focus on the inside out

Research has shown that foods such as gluten, dairy and sugar can impact acne, showing a correlation between diet and adult acne. So, it makes sense that feeding your body nutrients will show a positive effect on skin.  Research has shown that supplements with ingredients such as Vitamins A, C, D, Zinc and probiotics can help.  Skin care goes from the inside out. Therefore, I'm a big believer in supplements.  It would be great if we could get all the nutrients we need from our diet but unfortunately it's unrealistic to expect us to.

SPF should be applied daily, even when it is cloudy out. This will help prevent numerous issues down the road, from hyperpigmentation to wrinkles and even skin cancer.  Mineral sunscreen ingredients such as zinc oxide and/or titanium dioxide sit on top of the skin to scatter and deflect UV rays, physically blocking them from penetrating the skin, so make sure when applying sunscreen you pat it on the face and neck and chest. Do not rub it on.  And avoid spray sunscreens.  They do not properly cover the skin.

Wash your face only at night

Skip the morning cleanse!  The best time to wash your face is at night.  Night time cleansing removes dirt and pollution that builds up during the day. Plus, washing your face before bed keeps pillows cleaner and will in turn keep skin cleaner.  It is imperative to wash your face before bed because the skin repairs itself overnight while you sleep.

Three great products I recommend are Skin Therapy Cleanser, iS Clinical Super Serum Advanced+ & iS Clinical Extreme Protect SPF 30.
