Hello there! My name is Megan Murphy. As an esthetician who has been practicing in Los Angeles for over ten years, I’m excited to use this blog to share all of the knowledge I have gained in order to help my clients maintain the optimum level of health for their skin.
As a skincare professional who practices in the homes of my clients, I feel it’s important for my first blog to be about who I am, how I got here and what I believe in so my clients feel comfortable and familiar welcoming me into their homes.
Before I became an esthetician I spent nine years in executive sales; often targeting high end beauty companies where I found all of the products, tools and technology fascinating. Eventually I walked away from my sales career, went back to school, and became an esthetician. I knew I wanted to focus only on advanced medical skin care treatments. That said, when describing what I do, I make sure people understand that I am not a “foo foo” facialist. Don’t get me wrong, I want my clients to relax while I am working on them but my #1 priority is to show each client results and how to maintain healthy, vibrant skin.
My first job as an esthetician was at a med spa where I learned about advanced treatments such as chemical peels, injectables and lasers. It didn’t take long until I was hooked and decided to open my own studio where I would only offer “medi” style treatments. Soon after, I was introduced to the amazing Dermatologist, Dr Julia T Hunter, who trained me on everything from dermal planing (MY SPECIALTY!) to advanced chemical peels as well as her fantastic skin care line that has transformed the appearance of my clients skin.
My goal is to show my clients the best ways to achieve the healthiest skin, I find great joy in seeing how my clients react to my treatments and remain a firm believer in offering simple non invasive solutions to their skincare goals. So, no matter your age, it is never the wrong time to begin feeling great in the skin you’re in and I’m here to help every step of the way.
I look forward to seeing you either in my Manhattan Beach studio or in the comfort of your own home.
